Basic Web Hosting

What's the problem?

You have files you need to distribute to your students, members of your research team, or co-authors on a paper. You don't need any complicated interfaces, just to get the files to their destination.

Why should I care?

Sending files over email may fail if your recipients have limited email quotas. And if you make any last-minute updates, you have to send new copies, which multiplies the space required in their inboxes. And some email servers may automatically remove some types of attachments to cut down on spyware and viruses.

What's your solution?

Upload files to your personal web space on the CAE web server. It's as simple as copying a file to a networked drive in Windows or OS X.

Then send your recipients a link to the files' web address.

Everyone who downloads files from your personal web space automatically gets the most recent version you put there. And since the actual file never travels over email, it's immune to overzealous virus scanners.
